Week Six Recap - 6/23/14

Love, Italian Style: One of the most romantic countries in the world, Italy, plays host to Andi and the eight remaining men. It’s getting down to crunch time as there are only two weeks left before the hometown dates. Andi needs to make some tough decisions and some of the men who thought they were frontrunners suddenly feel like they are on thin ice.
Trying Nick out for Sighs: Andi pulls her first surprise on the streets of Venice, starting her first one-on-one date immediately with Nick. The shocked suitor needs to convince Andi that he is not the arrogant man that the other bachelors say he is. The date is the very essence of romance with the couple strolling along the fabled city hand-in-hand, taking a gondola ride along the waterways, touring Venice’s historic sites, including St. Mark’s Square and the Bridge of Sighs.
The Masks Come Off: That night, Andi, dressed in a stunning full-length gown and wearing an elegant mask, meets Nick outside the Palace Ca Zenobio, a palace where royalty would hold grand masquerade balls. But the beautiful surroundings don’t stop Andi from addressing her date’s unattractive attitude and behavior on group dates and his cocky reputation in the house. She likes what he has to say. That’s why Nick gets an invitation to a masquerade ball as well as a rose.
Have Fun Storming the Castle, Boys: The Bachelorette takes six excited bachelors to the quaint town of Monselice, where they soak up the local culture. When they arrive at a medieval castle where prisoners were interrogated, Andi reveals that all the men will be taking lie detector tests. Andi finds out that a few of her bachelors are not telling the truth. Nevertheless, she rips up the results. She wants to figure out who is here for the right reasons in the most authentic way possible.
Secret Admirer Exposed: At the group date after party, Marcus shocks Andi with a surprise revelation that he wanted to leave at one point while Josh confronts her about his dislike for taking the lie detector test. It causes a huge cloud of doubt for her. Finally, the Bachelorette’s secret admirer is exposed. Andi knew it had to be Chris due to his sentimental side. She gives him the group date rose.
Where for Art Thou, Cody: After a long wait, Cody finally gets his one-on-one date with Andi. The couple arrives in Verona, the home of “Romeo and Juliet.” There, they head to the Juliet Club, a group of volunteers, who answer thousands of letters addressed to “Juliet.” They read and respond to love letters from the lovelorn. That night at a candle-lit dinner Andi is overwhelmed by his passionate appeal to continue their journey, but she still can’t give him a rose. Andi tearfully says goodbye.
The Cocktail Party: The other guys in the room are ticked when Nick steals the Bachelorette away immediately. Andi doesn’t mind though. Chris flat-out tells Nick that he made an arrogant move by taking her away first.

Week Five Recap - 6/16/14

France Romance: Picturesque Marseille in southern France is the romantic backdrop for the start of Andi’s international quest to find her true love. Josh is the lucky guy to get the first one-on-one date exploring this beautiful coastal city with her. Andi is skeptical about whether Josh is too good to be true. Is there more to this relationship than just physical chemistry?

Not Just a Jock: Andi and Josh the day browsing through local shops, picking up the makings for a romantic picnic. They board a private luxury sailboat and head for the Calanques, a chain of breathtaking rocky islands off the coast of France. Later, the two are at the Palais Longchamp where Josh feels he’s just had the best date of his life. He shows that he’s much more than just a jock and gets a rose. Andi has one more surprise for Josh: a private concert by singer-songwriter Ben Fields.

Mime’s the Word: “No talking aloud” is the rule of the day when Andi takes nine men to a professional mime for coaching on his silent art. Then, the bachelors test their skills with the French public. As usual, the guys try their best, but the crowd is pretty much terrified by these silent foreigners. Everyone has a positive attitude about the experience except for Nick. Fortunately, he’s a mime, so no one has to hear him gripe.

Nick’s Knack for Bragging: At the after-party, Nick is confronted about his overly-confident bragging about being the “frontrunner.” Andi can feel the tension in the room. She tries to get some info from Chris, who is reluctant to dish too much. Cody isn’t though. He tells Nick that he doesn’t appreciate being mocked. Andi is impressed that Nick admits to what she’s heard, but wonders if she’s being manipulated. That doesn’t stop her from giving him a kiss after he reads her a sweet note.

Confrontations Galore: Marquel calls out Andrew, who he believes has made some reprehensible comments about him. It’s been eating at him. Andrew vehemently denies ever saying anything offensive. He later clues in Andi as to the claims that were made about him. He feels that what’s happening may be affecting his ability to form a relationship. As for Andi, she gives the rose to JJ, who was the one guy who made her feel special on this particular group date.

The Life of Brian: Andi’s last one-on-one date is with Brian, who needs to prove he can make the first move. The couple attends an advanced private screening of the new DreamWorks Pictures, “The Hundred-Foot Journey,” in theaters August 8. Our two potential soul mates, inspired by the movie, shop for ingredients for a romantic dinner at a French market. Back in Andi’s flat, the date boils over when Brian lands a passionate kiss on Andi. The game has changed for him, and he’s rewarded with a rose.

Week Four Recap - 6/2/14

Weekday in New England: Dylan and Andi spend a day taking a nostalgic steam train through the breathtaking New England countryside. Dylan reveals his heartbreaking family history. He knows this is something he needs to do to move on and have a real relationship. Andi’s feels so bad that someone had to go through such a devastating past. She gives Dylan a rose, but now out of pity. It’s because she’s so honored that someone would open up to her in such a raw, honest way.
Hoops, There It Is: Eleven men are eager to show off their basketball skills when they arrive at the Mohegan Sun arena, until Andi explains that they will compete against some of the WNBA’s best, as in superstars Swin Cash, Tamika Catchings, Elena Delle Donne, Lindsey Harding and Nneka Ogwumike. This is no slam dunk for Andi’s suitors, so Andi changes it up and has the bachelors divide into two teams to battle one another.
Winners Have Privileges: The winning team, the Rosebuds, attend an after party. Andi feels like things have stalled with Eric, who opens up about his brothers and sisters. His family means everything to him even though he left the Mormon Church. Andi feels thing are back on track with Eric after their chat. But at the end of the date, Brian gets the rose. He hit a sweet half-court shot that truly impressed Andi, but totally dropped the ball when he missed the signal she was sending to kiss her.
Down Time: Marcus receives the final date card for the ultimate adrenaline rush. Andi decides that she needs to face her fear of heights and picks this athletic bachelor to accompany her in a heart-stopping rappelling descent 30 floors down the side of the Mohegan Sun in 50 mile per hour winds. The couple ends the evening with a romantic dinner and country singer-song writer Jon Pardi serenading them. And Marcus ends the evening with a rose.
The Cocktail Party: Before the cocktail party, Andi receives a love letter from a secret admirer. After a serious discussion with Eric, Andi has a tearful breakdown and addresses all her suitors about her intentions and whether they are there for the right reasons, leaving them stunned and speechless.
The Rose Ceremony: Chris Harrison lets us know that after watching the last scene with Eric, who tragically passed away after filming, that it didn’t feel right to show the Rose Ceremony. Instead, he and Andi reminisce about their memories of Eric. As for the Rose Ceremony that wasn’t shown, Andi said goodbye to Tasos. Here is a list of the remaining men:

Week Three Recap - 6/1/14

Believe in Santa Barbara: Nick V. scores the first one-on-one date of the week. He spends a casual day with Andi riding bikes and hiking to a private perch in the mountains, culminating in a private dinner in the clock tower of the Santa Barbara courthouse. His misgivings gradually fade as he realizes how easily he could fall in love with the Bachelorette. But will she feel the same? Judging by the kisses they share and the rose Nick gets at the end of a really great date, there certainly is potential there.
Playing with the Boyz: Twelve unsuspecting men get the thrill of their lives when they realize that they will be singing with the award-winning R&B group “Boyz II Men,” harmonizing with them on one of their biggest hits, “I’ll Make Love to You.” The bachelors hit more than a few sour notes while rehearsing with the singers and then are left reeling when they are told they will be singing live on stage at one of the group’s concerts.
Pitch Imperfect: One guy has perfect pitch. That would be opera singer Bradley. But the others are trying to calm their nerves as they belt out a tune to the best of their limited vocal abilities. A rose is still up for grabs at the group date after party and the men turn up the heat. At the end of the date, Andi give the rose to the guy that opened up to her. Josh made her feel good even though he forgot the lyrics to the song he was singing to her earlier. The rose he receives undoubtedly makes him feel better.
This is Getting Old: Tall, good-looking J.J. joins Andi on an unusual date to discover what it means for “love to be timeless.” The couple ages 50 years with the help of Hollywood make-up artists and spends the day looking elderly, but remaining young at heart, as they interact with people in the street. Will Andi see her future with this “old soul?” Who knows? At least he gets a rose in the present day though.
Tension in the Mansion: Ron gets news that a close friend passed away. He needs to go home. Later, Josh and J.J. confront Andrew about how he bragged about getting the phone number of a restaurant hostess. The conversation is completely one-sided. Andrew simply doesn’t want to talk about it. He may not be there for the right reasons. Andrew denies bragging about getting the number in front of a larger group. He realizes that any chance of a bro-mance is dead.
