Week Ten Recap - 7/27/15

After Kaitlyn Bristowe survived a heart-wrenching rejection by Chris Soules, and then a nerve-wracking night to become the Bachelorette over Britt Nilsson, she moved forward for a chance at finding love with one of 26 intriguing bachelors. After surviving shocking twists and turns and a journey filled with laughter, tears, love and controversy, Kaitlyn narrowed down the field to two men who despise one another -- Nick and Shawn.
Her relationship with Shawn has survived several emotional bombshells, but she is still concerned that his jealous nature will sabotage her connection with him. Meanwhile, her relationship with Nick has been undeniably passionate and intense. But what will happen when their physical attraction fades? In this week’s dramatic conclusion, Kaitlyn is absolutely torn between the two men. She loves them and can envision a future with both bachelors, but time is running out.
With a possible proposal just days away, Kaitlyn introduces both men to her family in Los Angeles. Family is extremely important to Kaitlyn, so it is essential that these meetings go well. Who will make a lasting impression?
The family is first introduced to an extremely nervous Nick. Kaitlyn’s mom expresses her concern about Nick’s reputation as an unfriendly, overconfident man. Will he be able to convince her family that he is in love with the Bachelorette and he really is a nice guy? Next, Shawn attempts to dissuade Kaitlyn’s family that his reputation for having an intense jealous streak won’t get in the way of his love for their daughter.
Kaitlyn has important last dates with both men before the proposal day. She takes a romantic boat ride with Nick and realizes their red hot chemistry is for real and can picture a future with him. Her second date with Shawn gets off to a rocky start, as they spend an afternoon at a beautiful winery. So many things remain unsaid between them. Will their original passion keep them together or is it the end of the road for the couple?
The final days of Kaitlyn’s journey are filled with questions. Then, in a surprising, explosive ending, she must do the hardest thing she has ever done. Will her trip of self-discovery end with her accepting a proposal or will she end up all alone?

Week Nine Recap - 7/13/15

Kaitlyn Bristowe’s truly bold and untraditional journey to find love on The Bachelorette is rapidly coming to a dramatic end. The field is now down to the final three men –-- Ben H, Nick and Shawn -- all hoping for the chance to capture her heart. After Kaitlyn has her first intimate overnight date with Nick, Shawn cannot control his jealousy and continues to have a heated argument with his arch enemy. Ben H and Kaitlyn tour the Irish countryside on horseback, and he confesses his love for the Bachelorette. Then, Shawn goes on the final overnight date of the season. It’s romantic and sexy until Kaitlyn confronts him about the running argument he is having with Nick. The two suitors continue to clash, adding to the tension surrounding Kaitlyn’s decision about whose families she will meet. The Bachelorette travels to Utah, where the final two men’s families are skeptical and worried that their men will be hurt in this quest for love. How will Kaitlyn choose between the two bachelors who are in love with her? Is her judgment clouded by the importance of her decision?
Nick and Shawn continue to accuse each other of being there for the wrong reasons. But that doesn’t put a damper on Kaitlyn’s date with handsome Ben H. The couple takes a leisurely horseback ride through the beautiful Galway countryside. This easy-going man is a stark contrasts to her dramatic other two suitors. The two find an historic castle and settle in the grass for a romantic picnic. Ben H makes sure that Kaitlyn understands that he is in love with her -- she is the perfect woman for him. They meet at the same 19th century castle for a cozy fireside dinner. Will the two share the fantasy suite? Will Ben prove to be the knight in shining armor that Kaitlyn has been looking for?
Finally, Shawn and Kaitlyn start the final overnight date at the Lough Erne Resort golf course. The Bachelorette is hoping to get this relationship back on track with some light-hearted fun. Their power run through the course not only brings laughs, but one shocking sexy interlude. At a romantic dinner at Florence Court in Enniskillen, Kaitlyn decides to question Shawn about his intense dislike for Nick. Will this blunt conversation dampen the mood and squelch the invitation to the fantasy suite?
At the end of a pressure-packed rose ceremony, Kaitlyn sends one broken-hearted man back to the States, and she and the other two men make their way to the Montage Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah, where she will meet their families. Kaitlyn must overcome skeptical parents and more shocking revelations. Her emotions for both men are deep, but how can she choose between two men who are deeply in love with her? Does she love them both?

Week Eight Recap - 7/6/15

Kaitlyn Bristowe’s dreams of finding true love may be unraveling after saying a crushing goodbye to one of her favorite bachelors, Chris. Are her past mistakes starting to catch up with her, jeopardizing her relationships with the other men? There also is the impending decision about which men she will take on overnight dates. Just before the most important rose ceremony of the season, Kaitlyn pulls another surprise, but emotions and tensions are running high -- she doubts her decisions and relationships for the first time. As the Bachelorette embarks on her first overnight date, her optimism returns -- but two of the men face-off in an explosive confrontation that threatens to derail Kaitlyn’s happy ending.
Kaitlyn and Ben H row out to historic Innisfallen Island. He attempts to cheer her up with a romantic game of hide-and-seek among the seventh century ruins of Innisfallen Abbey and assures her he will never give up on her. Later that night, though, he shares one of his greatest fears and it is Kaitlyn’s turn to comfort and support him. But he is completely caught off guard when the Bachelorette asks him an embarrassing personal question.
Joe, Nick and Shawn accompany Kaitlyn on a group date to Killarney National Park. There are unexpected fireworks on this date that has a rose at stake. A shaken Bachelorette elects to tackle another crucial situation, with devastating results.
At the rose ceremony, the remaining bachelors wait to see who will be included in the final three. One man, who is offered a rose, surprisingly asks to speak to Kaitlyn in private. Her struggles have her questioning whether she might end up alone at the end of her journey.
Kaitlyn’s first overnight date with one of the smitten bachelors takes them to the charming town of Cork, Ireland. One of the locals shares that the secret to a long marriage is “trust,” which resonates with the couple. But the drama of this season continues to mount as this man reveals something scandalous about one of the other bachelors. How will Kaitlyn react?
But this bachelor’s bliss is cut short. The next day, he is caught in a huge feud with one of the other men and there is no way of telling how these hostilities will be resolved or how they will affect Kaitlyn.

Week Seven Recap - 6/29/15

Shawn is on a mission when he knocks on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s hotel door. The emotional bachelor wants to know if Kaitlyn is really in love with him. The Bachelorette is still juggling eight other relationships, so what will she tell him? The always dramatic two-on-one date features two diametrically opposed men -- Joe and JJ. Shawn continues to have a problem watching Kaitlyn being with other men. How much does he know?
The Bachelorette finds she owes some men apologies in order to maintain her connections with them. After a rose ceremony that leaves six men, Kaitlyn lets one lucky bachelor travel with her as they cross the beautiful Irish countryside, culminating with them kissing the Blarney Stone together. However, an unexpected visit by Chris Harrison changes the rest of Kaitlyn’s journey to find love. One ecstatic bachelor receives the first date card in Killarney, but the Bachelorette does something totally unexpected, which is a game-changing move for both of them.
If the week wasn’t filled with enough drama, Kaitlyn needs to focus on the only two-on-one date of the season. She must make a gut wrenching decision between polar opposites: Joe, a charming southern gentleman, and JJ, a smooth-talking city slicker. Sailing to a secluded romantic island off the coast of Ireland, one man takes the opportunity to tell Kaitlyn he is falling in love with her. And although it seems to be an easy choice between the two, the other man has an emotional confession to make about a shameful secret in his past. She sends one man home, leaving him alone and remorseful on the uninhabited island, while she and the other bachelor sail off into the sunset. However, there is still a rose to be given out. Will their relationship be strong enough to merit one?

A hysterical Bachelorette braces for the worst, but she realizes it’s another mistake that Shawn is upset about. A magnificent Irish castle is the location for the next rose ceremony. Kaitlyn decides that she needs to have a few emotional conversations with the men to diffuse the tension. At the end of the night, two dejected men fly back to the U.S. having failed to find their forever with Kaitlyn.
The six remaining bachelors hit the road for a trip through the Irish countryside, but Kaitlyn chooses one of them to ride alone with her. The couple gets closer than they ever have been before and they share a magical moment at the Blarney Castle when they both kiss the famous stone together.
Afterwards, as Kaitlyn relaxes in her elegant room at the Ballyseede Castle, Chris Harrison pays a surprise visit. After a heart-to-heart talk, they agree to embark on a Bachelorette “first.” Now, no matter how painful it is, if Kaitlyn doesn’t see one of the remaining men as her future husband, she will need to say good-bye more quickly than she originally planned.
A thrilled bachelor receives the first date card in Killarney, enjoying a panoramic helicopter ride over Ireland with Kaitlyn, landing near the Cliffs of Moher, where they set up a picnic at this memorable location. Then, in a total surprise, the couple share one of the most gut-wrenching scenes in Bachelorette history.

Week Six Recap - 6/22/15

Some bachelors will be making their last stand at the Alamo, as the drama picks up in San Antonio where it left off -- Ian is about to give Kaitlyn Bristowe a piece of his mind -- in one of the most shocking confrontations of this or any season. After a rose ceremony that leaves nine men in the chase for Kaitlyn’s heart, the remaining bachelors travel to the lush beauty of Dublin, Ireland. A picture perfect day strolling through the streets of Dublin turns into a passionate night for the Bachelorette and one of the men, but will Kaitlyn’s actions have serious consequences when it comes to the other men? A six-man group date tests the bachelors’ ability to say “good-bye” to Kaitlyn -- at a fake, traditional Irish wake. The rose winner from the group date and Kaitlyn enjoy a private concert by the internationally famous Irish rock band The Cranberries. Simultaneously, one of the men has a major meltdown and reveals an explosive secret only he and Kaitlyn shared, leading to a face-off that could derail the Bachelorette’s search for love on The Bachelorette.
Kaitlyn is left reeling from a stunning verbal smack down from Ian, as he lets her know exactly what he thinks of her: He believes she's shallow and that she's only there "to make out with dudes on TV." How will she react to this very personal attack? And what will he reveal about his real intentions that have nothing to do with the Bachelorette? One determined man makes Kaitlyn feel better, but not before a jealous frontrunner discovers their tryst.
A memorable rose ceremony follows at the Alamo and the remaining contestants travel to Dublin, which is a dream come true for Kaitlyn. She invites one lucky guy on a one-on-one date to stroll through the city streets and soak up the culture and then visit an Irish pub. At a romantic dinner that night, the heat is turned up and the couple attempts to fight off the passionate feelings they have for one another. Kaitlyn’s feelings are real, but she is worried about the effect her actions might have on her other relationships.
Six suitors are at first eerily unnerved and then, amused, when they attend a traditional “fake” Irish wake -- for Kaitlyn -- and must “eulogize” her. The bereaved and bemused bachelors bid a fond farewell to their beloved, who is hysterical with laughter listening to a raucous celebration of her life.
At the cocktail party that night at the Guinness Storehouse the six men proceed to woo Kaitlyn, especially one hopelessly romantic bachelor. The recipient of the group date rose and Kaitlyn share a romantic private concert by the hit Irish rock band The Cranberries, but simultaneously, a very agitated man confesses that he is having a hard time watching the Bachelorette share her attention and affection with the other guys. He has a meltdown and reveals an explosive secret that only he and Kaitlyn know.
Now, this jealous bachelor decides to take matters into his own hands and directly confront Kaitlyn about how he feels. A stunned Bachelorette automatically fears the worst -- that he has decided to leave!

Week Five Recap - 6/15/15

Nick must endure a no-holds-barred interrogation by the other contestants vying for Kaitlyn’s attention before they allow him to join the group. Kaitlyn’s worst nightmare comes true at the cocktail party at New York Mets’ Citi Field. Did she make a mistake letting Nick stay? Three men depart at a difficult rose ceremony, leaving 12 men to travel to San Antonio. A Texas two-step competition gets wild for Kaitlyn and one lucky guy who need to strut their stuff in front of a rowdy crowd. Ten bachelors are surprised by a charming 13-year-old superstar Mariachi singer and his band. They will need to write and perform their own songs and serenade Kaitlyn. A special one-on-one date takes the Bachelorette and her date kayaking along the famed River Walk, but the night portion of their romantic tryst turns very emotional. Finally, another explosive showdown is in store on Week 5 of The Bachelorette.
Nick is grilled by the other men, who question his real reasons for coming to New York. Is he really here for Kaitlyn Bristowe or for an extended 15 minutes of fame? Now, when the next cocktail party takes place at Mets’ Citi Field in Queens, New York, the Bachelorette hopes that the bachelors will accept the new addition, but one of the frontrunners makes it clear he is not happy. As several more suitors question her intentions, it is overwhelming. Should she send Nick home or follow her heart?
After the rose ceremony, the remaining men travel to San Antonio. Kaitlyn surprises one bachelor with a day of fun and fancy footwork. The couple spends the day with a professional dance coach, who teaches them the Texas two-step for a competition that night before a raucous audience and judges. Later, a cinematic sunset is the backdrop for the two to get closer. The man stuns Kaitlyn with a heartbreaking story about a past relationship gone wrong. Will that affect whether he gets a rose?
The next day, ten men are treated to a visit by Sebastian De La Cruz, a delightful 13-year-old Mariachi superstar, and his band El Charro De Oro. A bunch of nervous bachelors try their hand at writing their own Mariachi songs and performing them in front of a cheering crowd. One man’s badly sung love ballad captures Kaitlyn’s heart. But the after party mood is soured when the bachelors continue to harass her about why Nick is still there.
One last one-on-one date for the week involves a sincere man who spends the day kayaking with the Bachelorette and tries to make her feel better about her shaky situation with some of the men. But in a moving exchange, he opens up to Kaitlyn about a life-changing event and his already whirlwind feelings for her.
The dramatic cocktail parties continue. Kaitlyn explains to the men that honesty and trust are the most important values to her after this week’s group date. One outspoken bachelor takes her very seriously and ventures into dangerous waters. The gloves come off when he confronts the Bachelorette about what her real objectives and ambitions are. Will he cross the line or get a rose for his candor?

Week Four Recap - 6/8/15

A rap battle group date with hip-hop legend Doug E. Fresh, a bachelor Broadway competition, featuring Disney’s Aladdin, the Tony-winning hit Broadway musical, and a spectacular date at the Metropolitan Museum of Art gives Kaitlyn Bristowe a new spring in her step. However, when a new suitor suddenly turns up hoping to convince Kaitlyn to include him in her search for love, her world is turned upside down, during Week 4 of The Bachelorette.

The episode picks up right where last week left off -- Clint may think he sweet talked Kaitlyn into giving him a rose, but after the other contestants complain to her about his devious behavior, the Bachelorette decides to confront him. This sets off a combustible chain reaction, shocking Clint and the other bachelors – but it’s JJ’s response that makes the mansion explode.

Once that drama is settled, the remaining men will begin their world tour to find love -- in New York City. Eight fortunate men will join the Bachelorette at Stage Forty 8 where they meet rap legend Doug E. Fresh. The hip-hop icon tells the guys that they will be writing and performing their own raps in a rap battle contest to win Kaitlyn’s heart in front of a packed audience. With Doug E. Fresh’s help, they try their best to simultaneously insult one another and impress the Bachelorette. One man, who is in the doghouse, takes things a bit too far, resulting in the crowd booing him.

Then in a total surprise, Kaitlyn runs into Nick Viall, with whom she had a prior social media relationship. She is stunned when he proposes that they build on that initial connection. Kaitlyn is unsure of her next move. When she joins the other men at the cocktail party on a cruise boat, they are excited and eager to talk to her. However, she immediately informs them about the possibility of another admirer joining the group. Naturally, the men are not thrilled -- especially when they discover who it is.

Meanwhile, one lucky man is getting transformed into a dashing man about town -- complete with a new tux -- for a surprise one-on-one date. Kaitlyn gets her own makeover, as Ashley Salter from Chris Soules’ Bachelor season, not only gives her an elegant hair style, but cautions her about Nick and whether he has serious intentions.

When Kaitlyn’s dapper date arrives at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, he finds Kaitlyn at the top of the stairs, exquisite in a shimmering black gown and draped in diamonds. The couple has the museum all to themselves and takes a romantic stroll through the exhibits, ending with The Temple of Dendur, where they have an intimate dinner and get to know one another. Then to top off the evening, a private helicopter swoops in and whisks them away for a breathtaking tour of New York City.

Kaitlyn decides that she wants to allow the controversial bachelor to join the group, and informs the other men of her decision. Then it’s off to the New Amsterdam Theatre, where Kaitlyn reveals that the five men with her will be auditioning for a role in Disney’s Aladdin, the Tony-winning hit Broadway musical. The bachelor who is cast will be performing with Kaitlyn in that night’s sold out show. The men are put through what would be a typically grueling audition process, trying to impress Aladdin’s associate director and stars Adam Jacobs and Courtney Reed to land the role and the woman. The four other men, who are not cast, will be sent back to the hotel, devastated.

That night, Kaitlyn and the fortunate bachelor anxiously wait for their cue off stage. After the couple makes their Broadway debut, they make their way into the hustle and bustle of Times Square where Kaitlyn has one more surprise for her man of the hour. The two shoot to the top of 1 Times Square to see the New Year’s Eve Ball. No countdown is necessary for the couple as they spark their own electricity to light up the night.

Back at the hotel, the rest of the guys are dreading Nick’s arrival. What will be the fallout from this bombshell confrontation?

Week Three Recap - 6/1/15

The drama continues as a disgruntled bachelor -- Kupah -- refuses to leave after Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe sends him home. Her well-meaning talk with the man goes awry, and after this unexpected confrontation, she decides to cut the cocktail party short and go directly to the rose ceremony.
Six men learn that they will be taught the ancient Japanese sport of sumo wrestling by World Champion sumo wrestlers Biyamba and Yama, and Kaitlyn is there just in time to catch her guys wearing sumo belts, the traditional garb that barely covers their “package.” But Tony is upset about this choice of sport -- he feels that between this and boxing, the fight for Kaitlyn's heart has become a bit too literal. Will he decide to sit this one out? Will his attitude spoil the fun or will Kaitlyn be able to reason with him and get him back in the fold? At the after party, another man decides his expectations aren’t being met. And a frontrunner wants to make sure that the Bachelorette knows that he has never fallen so quickly for someone. Who will have earned the date rose?
Ben Z and Kaitlyn arrive at a strange building in the middle of nowhere. The couple’s relationship will be put to a tough test -- together they must overcome terrifying obstacles to gather enough clues to attempt to exit the “Escape Room.” Will this handsome bachelor save the day or will Kaitlyn’s worst fears become reality?
But the couple’s horror-filled nightmare is nothing compared to the six lucky men who find Kaitlyn waiting at an elementary school where she reveals they will be substitute teachers for the day. However, these eager students are waiting for the men to give them the lowdown on “where babies come from.” Ben H is a standout in class explaining reproduction and love, catches Kaitlyn’s eye, but will he get an “A” and a rose?
Back at the mansion, there is a budding romance, but it is not between Kaitlyn and any of her suitors. Two men are locked in a bro-mance -- Clint and JJ. Kaitlyn makes it clear at the cocktail party that she took a step back with certain bachelors this week and, with rumors flying of a division in the house, she needs to make sure that everyone is there for the right reasons. Will one man convince Kaitlyn to give him a second chance? And what will the repercussions be from the other men?

Week Two Recap - 5/25/15

This week, the contestants have to literally fight for Kaitlyn Bristowe's affection in a boxing tournament on The Bachelorette after some tutelage from boxing champ Laila Ali. The Boxing Tourney was the first group "date" (quotes seem deserved when left hooks to the jaw are involved). Some of the guys picked it up pretty fast, other guys went down pretty fast. Tony, for his part, found it rather repulsive that love was being turned into something violent.
These guys are definitely serious about winning Kaitlyn's affection any way they can, and the boxing tourney gets pretty serious really quickly. Jared had to be taken to the hospital after a particularly big punch from Ben Z.
Clint had a good week as well. His 1-on-1 date was an underwater photo shoot that started off a little awkwardly, but soon Kaitlyn was praising their connection and smooching him.
Most women say a guy's sense of humor is incredibly important, and another group of guys were put to the test with a stand-up routine after getting help from hilarious comedian (and noted Bachelor/ette fan) Amy Schumer and her comedian pals Bridget Everett, Nikki Glaser, and Rachel Feinstein.
Kaitlyn gave JJ the Group Date Rose at the end of this date. He was clearly emboldened by getting that rose -- after the bachelors decided to let the guys who didn't get a date this week talk to Kaitlyn first at the cocktail party, JJ grabbed her first for some 1-on-1 time. The guys felt that was selfish, and JJ agreed, but he wasn't sorry about it.
While pressing Kaitlyn for details on their connection, Kupah got into a little tiff with Kaitlyn before the Rose Ceremony. She wanted time to think about everything, but Kupah started loudly telling the guys all about their conversation. Kaitlyn didn't like the tone, and sent him hom on the spot. Kupah didn't like that, and caused a scene in front of the Bachelor Mansion on his way out. There was no Rose Ceremony, so we'll learn the consequences of Kupah's outburst in Week 3.

Week One Recap - 5/18 & 5/19/15

Night One
For the first time, two bachelorettes -- Britt Nilsson and Kaitlyn Bristowe -- greet potential love interests on the 2015 season premiere of The Bachelorette. And perhaps even more deliciously dramatic, for the first time, those two bachelorettes are waiting out in front of the Bachelor Mansion waiting to greet the 25 bachelors as soon as they arrive in their limos.
So as soon as the first limo door opens, the drama begins, because now these guys have to decide who to approach first. No pressure though, because while a guy is talking to one of the ladies, the other gets to just stand by awkwardly while the other two flirt, creating tension right off the bat.
As always, the arrivals are glorious -- Shawn E arrives in a hot tub car, Chris pulls up in a cupcake car, Joe shares some moonshine with the ladies -- and both ladies take turns feeling like all the guys are into the other bachelorette candidate. Which makes the cocktail party interesting, because this is usually where we see the guys going nuts, fighting for 1-on-1 time, but in this case, Britt and Kaitlyn are the ones feeling the pressure because the twist has been revealed: The guys are going to vote on who becomes the next Bachelorette.
So everyone at the party is feeling at least some pressure, scrambling to make a connection with someone. Ryan M seems to feel a whole lot of pressure of some kind, because he drinks A LOT and ends up making a few enemies quickly. But his routine is quickly put to an end after he slaps Kaitlyn on the butt, because that's a line that just can't be crossed. Host Chris Harrison calls him outside, and kicks him off the show, sending him home before the Rose Ceremony.
And soon the guys begin to break into two camps -- Team Britt and Team Kaitlyn. The vote will determine whose affection they'll be fighting for all season, but they also quickly realize that casting a vote for the woman who isn't sticking around could be detrimental to their chances going forward.
But they've got to pick someone. And at the end of the episode, the votes have been cast.

Night Two
The Season Premiere of The Bachelorette set up a lot of drama -- you've got your typical Which-Contestants-Are-Going-Home drama, but this season added the twist of Which-Bachelorette-Will-We-Even-Be-Watching-All-Season? drama, which is new and, frankly, pretty exciting (if relatively painful and awkward for the ladies). Thankfully for us viewers, Part 2 of the two-night premiere event settled the Bachelorette portion of the drama incredibly quickly.
Chris Harrison led off the show by approaching the two women to reveal the results of the vote to the two Bachelorettes. It's all-or-nothing: The loser goes home, the winner becomes the new Bachlelorette.
The new Bachelorette is Kaitlyn Bristowe.
Britt Nilsson shed some tears, but overall she maintained perspective on her search for love -- which may or may not even take that long (more on that below).
After some proper celebration time, Kaitlyn got to work getting to know all the guys. She also handed out the First Impression Rose to Shawn B, who got a few smooches as part of the package, but even that wasn't even her first kiss of the season -- that honor went to Chris "Cupcake" a few minutes earlier.
The Rose Ceremony was soon upon them, but not before Brady interrupted to pull Kaitlyn aside and telling her that he was leaving the show to follow Britt, so Britt might find love just yet via this season of The Bachelorette.
